About Africa Village
Africa Village brings you Africa through arts, cultural, traditional and contemporary presentations.
Many aspects of traditional African cultures have become less practiced in recent years as a result of years of neglect and suppression by colonial and post-colonial regimes. There is now a resurgence in the attempts to revive African traditional cultures, as well as the increasing recognition of traditional spiritualism.
Africa is considered by most paleoanthropologists to be the oldest inhabited territory on Earth, with the human species originating from the continent.
Africa has abundant natural resources and while continuing to supply much of the global mineral wealth, remains perceived as poor and underdeveloped. The Africa Village endeavour is to present Africa through ongoing presentations of specific cultures and nations either individually or jointly.
Through this closer experience of cultures and the contemporary potential Africa Village wishes to facilitate relationship building, creation of mutual markets and trade, with an enhanced understanding of Africa and its people.
Selecting the arts, visual and performing, as the 'spear' or initial introduction to new locations, governments, officials, opinion leaders and consumers, Africa Village then follows with many other potential exchange sectors including tourism, trade and skills and technology transfer.
Africa Village encourages an experience of African cultures through all five senses, sight, touch, taste , smell and hearing. As far as possible we wish to encourage one on one interacti on but also off er information transfer through the use of technology.
We trust that your experience is both enjoyable and beneficial.
